Have you ever thought about a solar lamp post? There are several styles of this type of solar powered light and they often come in white, black, and rust colors. For example, you can get them in a Victorian style with one, two, or three lamps on a post that is about seven-foot tall. The great thing about this type of solar powered light is there are no wires so you can set them up anywhere. As with other solar lights, they have an automatic switch so they come on at dusk, turn off at dawn, and then recharge in the day light.

Another category of solar powered light can be used anywhere because they are so portable. In fact, this style is often in the shape of a lantern or is used on a fence post or deck. There are also lights on a short pole so you can have them along a walkway, entrance to a home, or used in garden landscaping. Some of them have a switch to turn on a color. There are small solar lights that can be used for reading (they have a clip) or hung up as a trouble light.

A third category of solar powered light is the solar garden light. As with the other types of lights, you can really place these anywhere but because they may be in the shape of a gnome with a lantern or a lighthouse, they are often placed in the garden. There are also solar lights in the shape of humming birds or dolphins with chimes. This way, you have both light and sound on your deck, patio, or garden. If you like animals, there are solar garden lights in the shape of dogs with a lantern. They look good in your garden or an entryway to your home. You could even take these with you in an RV or camping. Yes, you can take solar powered lights with you when you travel. They don't need any type of fuel so they are easy to transport, store, and then use. Also, if they get knocked over, you don't have to worry about anything spilling or getting on fire! These smaller lights are great because you can put them anywhere outdoors or indoors.

The fourth category of solar powered light is stainless steel solar lights. These lights are most often used around landscaping, driveways, sidewalks, and other places you want several smaller lights. You may want to just show off an area of a yard or you may want to light a walk area. These lights are less expensive and you can usually buy them in packs of 15 or 24. This category also has spotlights to shine the light in specific places to display some landscaping or other items in a yard, entryway, or deck. This category also has lights to put on a deck, line a boat dock, patio, or anywhere. Solar lights are very flexible in where and how you can use them.
