I have a friend who is always on the lookout for free stuff, and this time he wanted a free solar panel.

"Why?", I asked him. "Can't you just buy that Earth4Energy product and make your own solar panel for less than $200?"

"No! I want a FREE solar panel," he replied.

This guy is mega tight with his cash, and he wanted to make a pump he could take camping to extract water from the ground. He needed a solar panel because he didn't want to use his SUV battery. This guy is truly a nutter, I can tell you that!

To cut a long story short, he got his free solar panel in a way I never thought possible! You won't believe what I'm about to tell you, but it's totally workable. Here we go..

The Free Solar Panel Plan

My crazy mate was driving along a country road one night when he had to stop at one of those automatic portable traffic signals they use at road works. He says he was sitting there thinking about his little water pump when he started wondering where the flashing lights on the signal got their electricity. I am not joking when I say that he got out of his car climbed to the top of the signal and FOUND HIS SOLAR PANEL! Now, he didn't steal it, but it got his little brain working.. How was he going to convince the signal renting company to give him a solar panel.?

So, he checked for a phone number on the signal, but only found a company name. He looked up the name the next day in the phone book and called them. After stuffing around for a while, he got through to the boss in the maintenance department and asked if he had any damaged solar panels to give away (let's say a drunk driver crashes into one of the signals). Of course the answer was that they only sell damaged panels, and for a nice price.

Now, any normal person would just give up, buy Earth4Energy, buy some raw materials and build a great solar panel. For my mate, no way! The guy gets his 11 year old daughter on the phone to the head mechanic and pleads for a free panel! Apparently he got her to say that she was doing a school project on Renewable Energy, and that any free panel would really help her with it. How is THAT for innovation?

He ended up getting 3 panels and a bit of a course on how they work, how to fix them, etc.. My God, what a genius! If any of you desperately want to avoid buying Earth4Energy, give this little plan a go, and if they say that they have no damaged panels just drive your car into a signal (*JOKE*)!
