Quartz watches could be classified into digital quartz watch, pointer type quartz watch, auto-quartz watch and the Eco-Drive watch. And how do they work? Let me elaborate each of them to you in the following.

The digital quartz watch is supported by the electronic units, combining the piezoelectric effect of a quartz crystal and the diode liquid crystal for the driving power.

The pointer type quartz one depends on the Ag-oxide button cell for power. After the Ag-oxide button cell has afforded specific voltage to the integrated circuit, the oscillatory circuit and the quartz resonator would start oscillation to for an oscillatory circuit. This circuit would transform a certain frequency to generate a pulse signal with 0.5hz frequency. Finally it would form the bidirectional pulse and drive the watch.

The auto quartz timepiece integrates the advantages of an auto-mechanic watch and a quartz one. It does not require a battery while the wearer could self wind it for driving force or choose the automatic charging. The quartz equipment makes it more precise than simply an auto mechanic watch. The moving arm supplies power to the watch. Moreover, it could reserve the extra power and is able to work for 9 days consecutively without wearing on the wrist.

The Eco-Drive watch transforms the luminous energy into electric energy through the solar wafer. The electric energy would be reserved in the recycle ti-li-ion rechargeable battery which would generate pulse signals for producing the magnetic force. The magnetic force could further drive the stepper motor inside the watch to drive the watch. It embraces a rather complicated working theory. However, the watch is very powerful.
