Lets talk about decorating for the holiday. Christmas is coming soon and everyone wants their home to look spectacular. You do not want to over do it and make it look gaudy. You want it to look like you hired an interior designer to come in decorate for the holiday. I am an Interior Designer and I will let you in on some secrets to make your room look wonderful.

o Wrap the pictures that hang on the walls. This will look like a bunch of presents and you do not have to buy Holiday pictures to decorate. Wrap them in paper that will accent the color you want in the room. This is great because you can wrap them different every year and have a different look.

o Take a large one of your favor vases that you use all summer for the beautiful flowers and fill it with colored lights. Sit this on the window sill or on a side table. When you plug it in, the lights reflect off of the glass and add such an ambiance to the room.

o Put a colors paper doily under the lights or a candy jar. This will fit in all styles, just select a color that matches. It brings the color in without making it look to over done.

o Another great holiday decoration idea is to use the old Holiday cards that you received last year. The ones that were too pretty to throw away, but you did not know what to do this them. Cut out the pretty front and apply it to a juice pitcher with Elmer glue. Don't let it get wet, but use it as a decoupage. It is really easy. Use a paint brush, dip it in the glue, put the picture on the front and paint over it again. Put about 3 layers on it. Most glue washes off. You can change it weekly.

The Holidays are fun and can be beautiful with out spending your life savings.
