1) Buy Solar Panels
Solar panels can be bought new or used. You can even make your own panels if you have the materials and DIY skills required for building it. Here are some points to consider when searching for cheap solar panels.

Directly buying from the main supplier or manufacturer is the best way to get a new solar panel at the cheapest price, because it saves the money that you pay to the vendor. You should check the quality of the item and ask whether the warranty covers damages or not.

Used solar panels can be an excellent deal, however, certain conditions apply. You should check the age of the panel. While age doesn’t do much to micro and polycrystalline panels, it will affect the productivity of other panels like the thin film.

Check the seal. The used panel should be sealed properly because moisture condensing inside the cover will greatly reduce its performance. Also check for damages. If the voltage is not stable or drops when the conditions are the brightest then the panel is damaged. Unless you can fix the damages such a panel should not be bought.

Buying from a company that is located within your country is a good idea because it will not only be cheaper in terms of insurance, postage and handling costs, but also safer as the items have lesser distance to travel.

2) Do It Yourself Solar Panels
A good way of using cheap solar panels is building them yourself. There are many DIY guides available on the internet, which explain the process in detail. However, home made solar panels are cheap only if you have access to the required materials.

The materials are freely available to purchase and you will just need to get some good instructions to assemble your panels and know what the pitfalls are to avoid.
