Solar Energy in Households: Put Money Back in YOUR Pocket!
The sun is a great source of energy. It would be a blessing to be able to use solar energy in your household due to the rising prices of oil and gas. Because of these rising prices, more and more people are experimenting with the use of solar energy in households in order to reduce the costs of energy bills.
You can collect energy from the sun in various wasy. It just depends on what you you plan on using the energy for that decides how you should. There are solar panels which are installed on household roofs or businesses. These serve as great tools for powering appliances and even heating and cooling a home. These collectors harness the sun's energy by intensifying the sun's rays and tuning it into energy via air, water, or electricity. Heated air or water can provide warmth for a home or hot showers as well.
So what's a downfall? Well, not every are in the world gets as much sunlight as the next. As you move farther away from the equator the sun's power decreases. But this is still a great way to become independent from a local power grid. If you store the energy you collect properly, you won't have any problems with using solar energy in households.
In some countries where gas and fuel is just too expensive, people use solar for cooking. They craft bowl-shaped discs and attach mirrors which reflect sunlight toward the middle where a pot is placed. Countries where this can be commonly found are: India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. They use solar methods to cook during sunlit days and normal fuels on others.
Seeing that should prompt everyone to pitch in to research toward solar energy. It is very much affordable even today. There are many homes now that use only solar for electricity. Nothing more.
In some areas, community cooperatives have found ways to bring electricity to households out of reach of power grids.
The story is the same in many countries now. And countries such as the United States and Israel even offer incentives for people who convert their homes to solar energy.
Ordinary households using solar energy is an ideal scenario that we should all strive to achieve.
