Let's face it; being dirty for more than a day can get very uncomfortable and it often makes your camping trip very un-enjoyable. To remove this little issue, there are a number of showers which are available at camping and outdoor shops. These run off batteries or they can be plugged into your car as well. They are all designed differently, but the basic idea is that warm water is pumped up and gets dropped on you, like a normal shower. The cheapest portable showers are just a small pump, hose and shower rose. These cost under 30 dollars, and once you have a bucket full of warm water you can have a decent shower.

You can get the shower tents (small cubicles) to have a bit of privacy if that is what you want. Alternatively, many people just shower in their bathers. There are a number of engine mounted water warmers, which use the engines heat to warm up water. These cost a little more, but they are great if you are camping regularly. You can even get stands for the shower rose, although you can easily tie them to a branch on the tree, or a shower tent has a place that you can mount them on.

At the end of a day when you are cold and dirty, there is nothing better than a warm shower. Even better is that they don't cost a huge amount, and you can store them in a relatively small place. If you are environmentally friendly then you can consider getting the solar bags which heat water up through the sun. These are not always very effective, depending on where you have them and of course the strength of the sun. All in all though, there is no reason for you to be dirty when camping with a good portable shower!
