the history of solar power

It's not that we have just started the use of solar power recently because the history of solar power is building up for some time now. In fact, it dates back to the time when experiments started in space. This started when countries like US and Russia sent their satellites in the space. Basically the satellites sent in the space for researches had array of solar panels that were used to power them. These panels were very big in size.

It was made sure that these solar panels were reliable as well as durable because there was very little chance that those panels could be replaced. If a solar panel failed whole mission would be affected and scientists never wanted to take any risk so for this a lot of money was invested in solar panels.

However, when the mission completed these panels were of little use or no use. The mainstream people couldn't afford it and neither did they know much about its use. So, no one actually tried to make it affordable.

After some years, when global warming started and there was shortage of power and energy sources, especially after the oil crisis in 1970s in the history of solar power. There began the need for a reliable, renewable, clean and durable source of energy. Solar power was one of them.

In present scenario, many countries are encouraging the use of solar power as an energy resource. Now solar manufacturers are competing to create solar instruments that are cheaper than coal and oil.

In fact, the history of solar power has evolved so much that people have started making their own instruments to capture solar energy and run various machines like solar water heater, solar generator, etc.
