Many disciplines in the professional sports world need constant and lasting training for the ultimate in sports performance, and keep up an overall lifestyle of a professional athlete. Special preparation is needed according to each chosen spectator sport to be able outperform all on the field or the court. Endurance training always seems to be a key failing factor in many do it yourself type training programs, as many will not push themselves to the point they need to outrival their adversaries.
Believe it or not the professional motocross rider must have more sports training than someone that plays baseball or basketball. It is the most physically, and mentally demanding sport known to man today. A rider must sustain a heart rate of one hundred and seventy beats per minute on average for a period of thirty minutes, plus two laps to just finish a race. The riders who do not give themselves completely to a sports training program of strength, diet, stamina, and mind conditioning will never place in the top three of a race. The rider who can lower their heart rate, and sustain for the duration will clearly be at the front of the pack, as they can calm down, and focus on the track.
The high school basketball player who wants a winning season to impress college recruiters, and get the edge on his or her teammates to be able to sign with a good college on a full ride for four years. They need to increase their vertical jump or lift by four to seven inches, and be able to out sprint, and brake with precision to dominate the other team, and win city, regional, and state championships. Also replacing any excessive weight for pure muscle mass will only elevate their speed training to new limits.
Professional football players who want to keep their contract for the next season will train harder than anyone else on their team. Specialized football training for gaining weight through adding muscle, learning to turn on a dime, gaining the power to knock down anyone who gets in their way on the field, and be able to sprint like an Olympian is a tall order. As you might summarize that, not only strength training is imperative to be successful in sports, but also extended endurance will always put you over the top, and let you wear out your opponents, and accelerate your game while they are running out of steam.
A laser focused sports performance training program is not for everyone, as it takes a level of commitment that only a few will agree to and persist to a level of championship results.
