3 Things to Consider When Buying Solar Panels
Click HERE To Discover How To Generate FREE Electricity
Are you wanting to reduce your electricity expense? One way is to limit the use of electrical appliances, however this can be quite difficult.
One viable option is to buy solar panels so that you can generate your own electricity.
Solar panels convert light from the sun into usable electricity which we can then use to power our homes, devices, appliances, and even some vehicles.
When you are buying solar panels there are many things to consider. Here are three considerations.
1 – Your Electrical Needs
Before you buy any solar panels you need to estimate the power consumption requirements for all of the electrical appliances in your home. Appliances to consider are water heaters, air-conditioner and white goods such are fridges and freezers. Make a list of the wattage ratings for the electrical appliances you want to power with the solar panels. Add the wattage amounts as this will give you an idea of the amount of electricity you are consuming monthly when using those particular appliances. As solar panels are wattage rated, select a solar panel or panels with a higher wattage rating than your calculated from your list. This ensures that the solar panel you will be buying will have enough power output for your appliances.
2 – Location of the Solar Panel
The location of where you want to install your solar panel can ultimately affect how much you spend. You want your solar panels to have maximum light exposure throughout the day. The optimal placement of a solar panel involves installing it so that it directly faces the sun between the hours of 9AM to 3PM, which is when the sun is at its brightest. ‘Add-ons' can be purchased to ensure maximum light collection by the solar panel. A solar tracker is an example of this, but it is an additional expense. The solar tracker is powered by electricity generated from the solar panel, which will affect the output of your solar panel.
3 – Service Life of the Solar Panel
Most solar panels last between 10 to 15 years. You need to make sure your total expenses when buying a solar panel system will ultimately save you money over a certain period of time. To do this estimate the monthly power consumption of the appliances you'd like to power with the solar panel, then simply multiply that amount by 12 to get your estimated cost per year. Then multiply that number by the guaranteed service life of the solar panel you are considering buying, to see what that potential savings would be and whether or not the investment is financially viable. Many people assume that solar panels last forever. This is totally incorrect as they only last between 10-15 years.
Solar panels offer many benefits to both our homes and the environment, but because of their high cost, most people hesitate to buy them. Always consider costs and benefits when you want to buy solar panels. The goal is to enjoy the benefits of a solar energy, not suffer its cost.
